A Week's Rest After the Event

First I'd like to thank everyone for their tremendous support while we undertook this endeavour, especially those who came down to either walk with us or lend a hand. Every word of encouragement lifted our spirits and motivation, and we know we accomplished something that meant the world to others. It was long, it was hard, and it was painful, but it was also more than worth it. The walk may be over (this year) but we will continue to work toward our goals.

Still Workin

Our 8 hour walk was a successful one, despite the whether. We ended up using FSK mall as our track, and made plenty of laps. We'd like to thank The Greene Turtle for everything they have done for us, their contribution was tremendous. We have one more event that we'll be out in order to promote the event: Flying dog Brewery!! Come out this Saterday and see us, and drink some good beer while you're there!!

2 Weeks Left
The support we received from Cancun Cantena was phenominal! Two band were in full support of us, Darryl Worley took the time to talk to us and take a photo (posted in our Gallery) and we had numorous oppertunities to talk to patrons who were interested in this event. All in all, it was a very successful night. We're looking forward to returning, even just to enjoy the establishment as it was so nice. This upcoming Monday, Labor day, we will be at the Greene Turtle in Frederick, who has generously agreed to help us raise funds for the event. We ask again for you to come out and enjoy some good food and company! Tomorrow we will be doing our last practice walk, for 8 hours. We will be doing this on Fort Detrick, rain or shine (hopefully more shine than rain though). With two weeks left we are excited about how many people will be meeting us at the event!

Recent Developments

Our 6 hour practice walk was informative; we gained ideas of what we could improve on our preparation as well as continued to develop better knowledge of the challenge we know we will tackle.
We've recently added more pictures to our gallery we hope you'll enjoy, with more on the way soon.
Our press release has gone out so you should see us in the news soon! Also, We are going to be at the Cancun Cantina at 7501 Old Telegraph Rd. Severn, MD tomorrow the 22nd with special performance by Darryl Worley

First post!
Welcome to our blog page!!
It seemed like an uphill battle for awhile, but now our website is up and running. As time moves forward and we get closer to the press release, we find ourselves more and more excited about our project taking off on its own. We love the support we've received so far and that has our moral high and confidence building. We've had about a month and a half from conception to event and I am personally amazed by the effort being givin by the committee.

Coming up for us soon is our next practice walk. We don't want to go from zero training to the full 24 hours, so our goal for this weekend is a 6 hour walk. We'll be training at the route on this site, so if you see us, feel free to say hi!
